Report Cards are documents that help parents to learn about their children’s academic achievement, cooperation in school, attendance and punctuality.

Report Cards are distributed four times a year.  ********The first report card will be distributed November 16th***********

Parents will have the opportunity to discuss their children’s report cards with their teachers on November 17th 2015.

Report Cards are sometimes difficult to understand

The following information will explain your child’s report card:

  1. Attendance and Punctuality – At the top of the report card the number of days that a student has been absent or late is written.  The days are indicated for each report card quarter and on the right hand side the number of days are totaled.
  2. Academic Marks – On the left hand side of the report card is the student’s subjects. Next to each subject is a number grade:  90-100 is  an A,  80-90 is a B, 70-80 is a C.  65 is a passing grade.  Any number below 65 is a failing grade for that subject

       3. Cooperation/Behavior Marks – Next to every number grade are the letters which indicate cooperation and behavior in              that class.  E is excellent, S is satisfactory, N is needs improvement and U is unsatisfactory.

       4.  Grade Average – At the bottom of all of the subject grades is the grade average.

Honor Roll – Students who receive a grade average of 85 with no more than 1 N and no U’s are on the Honor Roll,  Students who receive a grade average of 90 or more with no more than 1 N and no U’s are on the Principal’s Honor Roll.

Summary:

Parents should pay particular attention to the following:

  1. Attendance and Punctuality  contribute to being in school and ready to learn.
  2. Cooperation and Behavior indicate a student who is listening and focused on learning.
  3. Number grades and an average are important because beginning with the first report card it shows progress and it is a starting line of motivation for your child going forward in the school year.
  4. Number grades that start high, but fall down and number grades that are inconsistent can indicate a problem.

We wish all of our parents good luck on their child’s next report card and look forward to meeting with you at Parent Conferences on November 17th.
